Publisher 2003 Update

T

Todd Krueger

I received an email supposedly from Publisher Service
Provider Program [[email protected]] that I should
download these files to correct some problems in the 2003
version. In certain cases, Microsoft Office Publisher 2003
is not able to produce output when printing separations or
composite CMYK PostScript. When this happens, Publisher
behaves as though the job printed successfully, but there
is no job in the print queue or no PostScript file on the
disk. Unfortunately, you will not receive an error message
to alert you to this problem. This issue is specific to
Publisher 2003. Are these files safe to download? This is
the
file.http://download.microsoft.com/download/7/a/3/7a3dd273-

I will admit that I'm not familiar with "Publisher Service Provider
Program". The KB they mention is legit but I'd recommend reading the article
and determine whether or not you need to correct the issue or not. The
article says that if you are not severely affected by the problem that you
wait until the next Office Service Pack before downloading the hotfix.

Absolutely they are safe to download.
Pity they did not fix other bugs at the same time.
