Publisher 2003--What Am I Doing Wrong?

When I import an article from Word it is sent to a separate document, I
understand that this is normal, however when I copy/cut and paste the
article it starts at the point where I have the cursor, however, any
overflow to the next page is sent to additional pages at the end of the
document.

To clarify I am using a template that is 10 pages long, if I want to paste
the imported document on say page 6 about midway down the first column (of a
2 column page) it flows in like I want it. However, any text that will not
fit on page 6 is sent to page 11 and beyond, depending on the length.

Any help will be appreciated in solving this problem.

Thank you.

Publisher is automatically creating overflow text boxes for you. What you need to do
is create linked text boxes from page 6 to page 7 and leave the rest of the pages
empty; Publisher will automatically put the text flow on the pursuing pages. By your
creating a text box on each page without a link, Publisher thinks you want them left
alone. (Not sure "think" is the correct term).

Thanks Mary, tried it and works as advertised.

As for "thinking" no way, if the program did "think" we would be in deep
trouble.
