Publisher 2007 email problem

We installed publisher 2007 mainly for the ability to take a newletter and
send it in the body of the email with active hyperlinks rather than a PDF
attachement because of the anture of our business. It required my Office
outlook to be upgraded to 2007 which the company did (we operate on a
microsoft exchange server). My default email is set as Office outlook 2007
yet I get an error message everythime I try to do an email merge telling me
Office Outlook needs to be my default email for this funtion to work. We've
checked all the settings we can think of and it IS set to that.

Suggestions?
