Publisher 2007 - Insert Key

Hello,

I am trying to use the insert key to overwrite text in a Publisher document
and can't seem to find how to enable it.

Better Explanation: In Office 2007 I have discovered that by default the
insert key on the keyboard no longer does the default option of overwriting
text. In most Office products that have the Ribbon I can go to the office
button options advanced editing and enable the overwrite function.

Publisher 2007 it does not use the ribbon and I can't find the option
anywhere in the context menu's. Enabling it in Word did not enable it in
publishder.

Thank you,

Publisher has always been like that. It never allowed INS key to be used like
in World, Excel etc to typeover the previous text. (just tried in Publisher
2003).

The reason for this is that people don't edit their document in publisher!
(perverse this may sound). They normally do it in Word and then copy/paste it
in Publisher. However, there are few occasions when it is quicker to edit
directly in publisher. For example when you have only a minor adjustment to
the text when you can type the new text and delete the old.

For long documents, Word is still the better option.

Hope this helps.

Enabling something in one program will not make it happen in another.

Using the Insert key will not allow you to overwrite like some of the other
Office apps will. It's not a feature of Publisher.
