Publisher 2007 No Email Hyperlink

SCR

My OS is Vista Home Service Pack 2. I am unable to create a hyperlink for an
email address in the Contact us area. I get the screen where I can make
several choices, including Email Address. I click on Email Address in the
lower right corner, put in the email address I want, put in my subject,
highlight the mailto:xxx and click OK, but nothing happens. I have tried to
put it in on 4 separate pages. I have successfully put in a hyperlink to
another website, so I am really confused! Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you selected the text or object on the page before trying to insert the
hyperlink?

Yes, several times on several different pages in different text boxes! I also tried it without selecting my text. All with the same result - no link! Thanks for your interest!

RESOLVED - I decided to see if changing my Business Information where I had the email address I was trying to link, might work. I deleted the actual address, just leaving Email:in Business Information. I went back to my template, then typed in the email address I wanted to the right of Email:, highlighted it, clicked hyperlink and completed the Email Address & Subject areas. And it worked! I am not sure why or how, but I now have the email link I needed. Thanks to anyone who spent time thinking about my issue, especially DavidF.
