Publisher File with EPS unpacks at Commercial Printer as Metafile

L

learning curve

When I pack and go a file with a EPS graphic and take it to my commercial
printers it Unpacks as a Metafile. We are both using Publisher 2003 and can't
seem to resolve this issue.

I am guessing here.

In the process of running Pack N Go, ALL internalized graphics are
kicked out of the publication and made into linked graphics. The process
sees the eps and assumes in contains vector information and the Windows-
native vector format is WMF, so that is what it converts to.

Which leads me to suspect that the eps was not linked in the first place,
but was fully imported. Perhaps if it (along with all other imported
graphics) was imported as a linked graphic the PNG process would not
have to created external linked files and thus the conversion may not
happen. Worth a try, anyway.

I forgot to add...

and this is something you can test yourself without involving your
printer.
