JoAnn, you are correct. For Publisher 98 it is 11111-XXX-1111111-11111
(5-3-7-5) but the XXX needs to be replaced with 111 if retail or OEM if
the version is an OEM as written on the disk "to be installed on a new
PC"..... I have an OEM version. There were a lot of those default codes
for the earlier versions of Publisher and also Office. One was all 7s
where another was all 5s but now I can't remember which version was what.

The product key is not on the splash screen. IIRC, you can use all 1s on
the older versions (BTW, it's not Pub 99). I just don't know how many 1s
you need to enter.

I have used Publisher 1999 for years and now want to install it on a new
computer but do not have the key. On the old computer the page with it
flashed up too quickly to be copied. How can I get it? I have no desire
to
buy a new version.
Secondly on properties I clicked 'hide', in curiosity. Now the
programme
seems to have disappeared from the list of installed programs. I can
still
access it through opening an existing file and calling up New. Not very
satisfactory.
Any help appreciated.

I originally purchased the XP Office Pro package w/ Publisher that was
already installed. I recently had to re-install my OS and Office Pro
pkg. For
some reason the Publisher CD does not ahve a product key with it. How
(Who?)
do I contact re: verifying that it is an original and get it back on my
system?
