Publisher should feature the new interface Word has!

Publisher is probably the most used program out of the office group i use.

I have found publisher 2007 to be sort of disapointing so far. I was hoping
to see the lovely ribbion interface in publisher! As well as couple of new
features (eg. some new web tools for webpages?).

:)

Please remember that first and foremost, Publisher is a desktop publishing
program. It was not developed to create websites. That's just an added
perk/annoyance (depending on your point of view).

Personally given a choice between getting the Ribbon and actually getting
some good new functionality, I'd choose the functionality. And that's
basically what the trade-off was.

Saying that, I would have liked to have seen the Ribbon, too.

I must be old school - I can do without the ribbon. Give me plain and simple
any day.

Go back to Publisher 2? :p

The ribbon helps to make things plain and simple, rather than massive seas
of menus and toolbars. Or at least it's designed to.

I still haven't downloaded the beta. I need to plug more RAM in another
system that I have that is collecting dust. It was a freebie and to date
I've spent nothing on it. I'm hoping to continue that trend. (I have a
friend who says he may have some old PC133 RAM tossed in a drawer
somewhere.)

I upgraded a friend's machine from 64MB of RAM to 320MB a couple of weeks
ago (PC133, laptop). The speedup was amazing!

(Then I XP'd it the other day - it was a ME machine! Ugh!)

The freebie had 512 but one of the sticks was bad. I really want more in it.
It too had ME and THAT I will not allow inside my home. I'd run Win 3.1
before I ran ME. I'm really dumbfounded at home much the PC133 RAM is still
selling for. The least I've seen is $67 for a 512 stick. I'm a bit thrifty
so I'm holding out that my friend comes thru for me. I've acquired a few of
his hand-me-downs. Works fine for me. :)

From what I've seen, that's pretty average. The supply of PC133 RAM has
dropped off, and there's still a decent demand from old system upgraders. I
was quite surprised how cheaply I was able to pick up a 256MB stick when I
didn't use the Buy It Now options.

I'm a bit leery of going eBay for this. Trying to stay with better known
sources.
