Publisher works very slow while working with my site. CPU usage -

I created my site in 2003 which was working smoothly until near to the end.
Things have got really slow. Pages take ages to load and when they do, the
slightest movement to do anything results in a Window Freeze. When I check
the Task Manager, frontpage shows 100% cpu usage. My site is simple, no big
pages or scripts, so its not normal for the program to do so much
calculation. and my Athlon2500 is upto any big tasks so there is no question
of a slow computer.

The problem is with Publisher. I published the site before, & it is working
fine on the internet. Now I wanted to make edit. Since then the publisher
became very slow.

Solution: I found out the problem.
I had made a table for features, in which whatever feature is present, I
inserted a True tickmark image. Wherever the feature is Not available, I
inserted a picture of a false checkmark. there were 5 to 6 pages like these.
The moment I deleted these pages, i found out that publisher is working with
the same as before, full, speed.
So the problem was with publisher, that it takes too much time to process
pages with large number of images, even if the images are of 2KB size only.

Any comments are welcome.
Thanks

You fail to be clear here. What program is at issue? A Publisher document
file? or a Web page in a browser? or a FrontPage file?
