Publishing error - latest hotfix

Marcus Pierce

I am getting ready to upgrade and deploy Project Server 2003 and Project Pro
2003. On the staging server that is supposed to become production, I'm
getting a lot of spooler errors when publishing--usually SYSTEM ERROR
(0x80004005). Anyone know why? I thought is had to do with "assign myself"
problems mentioned earlier, but it happens when assigning others as well. Any
ideas?

Also, can anyone say definitively what the latest SP and Hotfix are for
2003? Should they be installed in every case?

Thanks,

Marcus:

You've got a lot of variables in the mix. You should install SP1 and the
latest post SP1 hotifx 838882 or later if available.

Thanks Gary. BTW, the latest hotfix I can find is 842361, and it seems to
address the problem.

Hey Marcus and Gary, had the same problem, applied the latest hotfiox and it
did not solve the problem. When I save/publish a project, only the project
sumary task shows up in Project Center, no detail task. Then when I assign
resouces to the tasks and then Publish new and changed asssignments, I get
the System Error in project spooler...any ideas on where to look next?
