Publishing Errors

I've had this problem before, but can't remember the solution:

Working with FrontPage 2002

I've got a friend who is unable to publish to our school's webserver. We've
isolated the problem to her computer because I can use her username and
password and post to her webspace from either of my computers.

When you attempt to publish, you are prompted for the Publish URL and after
putting it in, we get the error. The error we get says that no web exists at
xxx (web URL) and asks if we want to create one--only two options on the
dialogue box are OK or Cancel. Regardless of what you select, the dialogue
box goes away and nothing gets published.

This may help troubleshoot--we can publish to a FTP site using her computer,
it's the site that goes in via HTTP that doesn't work.

Any ideas?

I don't have one. Who is this "Everyone" you're referring to? Is it some
kind of '60s name like Moonbeam?

That isn't working. When I plug in the URL to open the web from within FP, I
am never prompted for a username and password but I do see a momentary flash
of a message that says "Connecting to Web Server". Rather than opening the
existing web from the remote server, FP creates a new local page, not a page
on the remote server.

If I try to publish to a new subweb (I do have full-control over this
server, so I can create a new web), I get the following error:

The folder isn't accessible the folder may be located in an unavailable
location protected with a password or the filename contains a / or \.

The host does permit subwebs. I can post to her sub web from my computer
using her security--it's just her computer that isn't working for publishing.

She has been forwarding her changes to me for a week so that I can publish
for her.

Thanks for your help on this! It's really starting to bug me.

Thanks so much for your help Rob!

We actually figured it out a couple of hours ago--we removed and then
reinstalled Service Pack 2 and it started working!
