Publishing FP using FTP

My web host server (Telivo) will not allow me to upload my web site using
FTP.

Is this common for all web server hosts when using FP?

When the server has the FP extensions, FTP should not be used, unless you really understand how the
extensions work, so many web host will disable FTP access when a account has the FP extensions, so
that the extensions do not be corrupted and they do not have deal with support issues surrounding
the extensions becoming corrupted.
