Publishing problem

When I publish my web I get a message stating "making web updates". That message never goes away. After about 10 minutes I receive a message from Front Page 2003 saying that it could not find my domain name on port 80. It tells me to check proxy server etc (which I am not using). When I actually go to the site, the changes are there. Any suggestions.
