publishing project to project server and open project from project server 2003

When we connect to Microsoft Office Project Server 2003,
and we open or publish a new project and then save the project to the server, Microsoft Project quits unexpectedly (crashes) and you receive an error message that is similar to the following

"Project Encountered a Problem and Needs to Close" Error Message and Microsoft Project Quits Unexpectedly (Crashes) When You Save Your Project to Project Server

Most of the user can save and publish their project to project server 2003.But now when we open project from project server an error occured and ms project quits unexpectedly (crashes) and then project that we try to open is seen as check-out.We check in the project and try again but the same error occur and the project seen as check-out again.We looked support center but we didn't find a solution

Has anyone an idea about the problem/solution?

Hi,

I remember facing similar situation.. when you get this
error, could you check up the event viewer on the machine
hosting the project server and see if it helps... But
usually project server issues are self healing ( some of
them ) the issues kind of get resolved overnite ( atleast
for me.. ) could you check up the event viewer and let us
know..

Hi,

I had the same problem.
My solution is: If you have an Enterprise outline code
custom field, check if the option "Only allow
selection..." is checked. If yes, Remove it.

Hi
We traced the project server database log file and changing settings of the log file, most of the user could open and publish the project file. However,some of the users received the same error mesage
When I tried to open a project I received the same error but after a while I tried again and I opened the project without a problem.
