Publishing projects containing out of sync actuals

Hi there,

We've a problem in publishing a project from Project
Professional when it has got out of sync actuals.

When we adjust the actuals in Project Web access, it
works fine. But when we adjust it using Project
Professional, and try to publish it, we get this error.
We are fine not to use Project Professional for updation.
But when we use Project Professional to publish, we'll
get a dialog when we open the project for next time in
Project Professional from PWA, asking if we want to sync
the actuals: if we accept it; we lose all the actuals in
the project (Replaces all the values in PWA Data base).
But people who'll be using this one could use project
professional and that's why we want people not to face
this problem at all.

Is there any way to disable that dialog which prompts
to over write the actuals with PWA actuals, as the
default choice is "Yes", which will remove all the
actuals?

BTW, we are using only enterprise resources, not any
local resources at all.

Thanks,
Pavi

If you are using the Managed time periods feature of Project Server 2003,
then you cannot enter actuals in the Microsoft Project plan. Instead, as
you have found, all actuals must be entered in Project Web Access by project
team members, and updated into the project plan by the project manager on
the Updates page of PWA. To solve your problem, I believe you will need to
ask your Project Server administrator to temporarily or permanently disable
the Managed time periods feature, and then you can save and publish your
project without seeing the dialog. Hope this helps.
