Publishing to a subdomain? Am I a dummy?

HI - THanks for any help! I am trying to publish my site to a subdomian on my
host. BUt the subdomain is in the format of htp://mysubdomian,mydomain.com
NOT http:/mydomian\mysubdomain.
It publishes but only to the root folder (not even in the domain but the
root of the domain) I put htp://mysubdomian,mydomain.com in the PUBLISH WEB
.. I am sure this is simple but so far I am not working it out. Help anyway?
It would be greatly appreciated.
thanks Phil

For Example : One of my sites is
http://www.best-bread-making-recipes.is-for-you.com/
The domain I own is http://www.is-for-you.com
So the http://www.Best-Bread-Making-Recipes.is-for-you.com is the subdomain
and thats what you see if you open an ftp program. SO In Frontpage I input
http://www.Best-Bread-Making-Recipes.is-for-you.com as the domain to publish
to and it publishes it in the ROOTof my user account - not even in the
domain. (And yes I do have Frontpage extensions turned on.) I am sure this is
a simple fix cause millions of people must publish to their sub domains in
frontpage on hosts that use this type of subdomain format but I looked all
over Microsoft and Google and can't find out how to do it. Thanks for your
help.

There are three ways to set up a subdomain:
1) (most common) A folder in the web site is designated for the
subdomain and converted to a subweb in FrontPage. The DNS (Domain Name
Server) points the subdomain to this folder. Note that FrontPage forms
and search may not work in this setup, since the extensions are only
installed on the root web.
Example:
Folder is http://example.com/subdomain
Publish to http://example.com/subdomain
Browse to http://subdomain.example.com

2) A separate hosting package is used for the subdomain.

3) The main domain root is actually a folder in the hosting package, and
subdomains (and other domains) have their roots in folders at the same
level. DNS is set up to point to the appropriate folder.
Example:
Hosting package is physically located at
E:\members\membername
Main domain root is located at:
E:\members\membername\domainroot
So http://example.com/ is located at E:\members\membername\domainroot on
the server.
Subdomain is at:
E:\members\membername\subdomainroot
So http://subdomain.example.com/ is located at
E:\members\membername\subdomainroot on the server.

These locations can be extended individually, so FP forms etc. will work
correctly. This set up is not supported by some hosts.
