publishing web error

The error message I'm getting is "The server ''' timed
out. The current request did not complete successfully."
I was able to publish pages to the web successfully before
but this error message has been popping up for the past
couple of weeks and I've had to use my ftp program to
upload changes. Any ideas as to why this is happening and
what I can do?
Thanks for any assistance.

If you've used FTP you have corrupted the extensions have your host reset / repair them.
