I was getting a server error when I tried to publish my site so my hosting company told me to go to http://shoreautolease.com in front page from now on so when I make changes they will automatically update. This works except for when I make chages on my template they do not update on all pages. Any idea how to get all pages to update this way?

Hi Colleen,

That is a cop-out by your web hosting company; you should be able to publish up.

If you're using a DWT in FP3 it has to be done via a disk based web.

Which version of FP are you using?

If FP2003 and you are using the DWT template, the autoupdate feature only works on your local
machine when access your web as a disk-based web (c:\..) If you want to update the page with DWT on
the live site under the FP extensions, then you have to open each page and re-apply the template.

If you can open the site via http://shoreautolease.com, you should also be able to publish it
directly to that location from your local copy.

Using FP2003 does not mean that you're using DWT. DWT requires that changes be made on a disk based web (DBW) so that they propagate
to other pages based on the DWT.

I am using FP 2003. If I go to each page a detach the template it still stays. I have to delete each section only keep the body
then reapply the template which is very time consuming. Is thier an easier way? I change my template daily.

You have to make the updates on your local copy and then publish. The DWT should really just be used
to establish the look of your overall site, and so shouldn't have to be updated unless you are
changing your site design. If you need to regularly update certain content, use the FP Include Page
component to include this content in your pages, then you can just update the page that is being
included, this will work directly on your live site.

Re Open you online web in FP as you have been
Runs a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks
Then do a File Publish Site (select All on the Publish Tab)
(select the disc location option and browse to an existing folder on your PC - say C\MyWeb)
When done publishing select the new option on the bottom to open the Remote Web
- FP will open a second instance w/ your local Disc Based Web

Make changes to your DWT page and apply them
Then either:
- Use File Publish Site (select Changed on the Publish Tab)
(select the FP SE option and enter your URL as http://www.shoreautolease.com/ )
OR
- Switch to the other open instance of FP (your online Site) and on the Remote Web Site tab at the bottom Right select the Local to
remote Option to publsih from your DBW to the FP SE online web

| I can't open it locally now...it always prompts me for a password.
