Putting a reminder in Everyone's Calendar

I'm not sure if this is the right newsgroup to use or if I
should be using the Exchange 2000 Newsgroup. I am
wondering if it is possible to put a reminder in client's
calendars without the client accepting?

We want the ability to let everyone know that maintenance
is going to be done on any particular server at any given
time. Normally we will send e-mail messages to Everyone
in the domain that a server is going to be off-line for a
certain time period on whatever date. The problem is that
not everyone will read the message or if they see that it
was sent to the Everyone distribution they automatically
delete the message. Since everyone checks their calendars
more than e-mail, is it possible to just place a reminder
or calendar event in the calendars without sending a
message or meeting request to Everyone?
