PUtting photos on form

I am making a home inventory database to include a description of the
household item, date purchased, cost, etc. I would also like to have a photo
of the item displayed on the form for each record as is done on the Northwind
employee form. I know you should store the photos in a separate folder (not
in the database itself), but I can't figure out how to link the photo and the
corresponding record. Looking at the Northwind database is no help
whatsoever. I would rather not have to click on a link in order for the
photo to display, but rather have it like Northwind, where the photo is
displayed as soon as the record comes up. Hope this makes sense! Thanks in
advance.
