PWA 2007 in IE7

Hi.

We’ve recently ran into an error when attempting to access Project 2007 Web
Access via Internet Explorer 7. The error reads "At least Internet Explorer
version 6 is needed to use project web access".

We’ve already checked the following leads:
*The site is registered in the browser under Trusted Sites.
*All ActiveX controls are installed and enabled, as seen in Tools > Internet
Options > Security > Custom Level

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Nir

What page are you receiving this error on?
If one of the grid pages, this really sounds like there's a
restriction on ActiveX controls. Did you recently install SP1 for the
server? It needs updated ActiveX controls on the clients.

Do you have any machines that are connecting successfully with IE 7?
If so, take a close look at all of the settings for the appropriate
Security zone in IE.

Hi James.

We eventually tracked the error to the remnants of an old plug-in that was
installed for the explorer 6, and wasn't properly removed when explorer 7 was
installed.

For future instances of this error, here is how we solved it:

1. Open the registry (Start > Run > regedit ) and navigate to the following
key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\User Agent\Post Platform

If you have previous installed, the key should be set to: "Avant
Browser"="IEAK"

2. Delete this key and open PWA using IE (ver 6 or 7).
