PWA: Export grid to Excel

Hi,

I'm trying to export data from Project Center to Excel and keep getting the
following error:

'The ActiveX control on which this feature depends could not be created.
Because of this error, you can only copy the XML data to the Clipboard'

I still get this error after adding the Project Server site to the list of
trusted sites. It seems to be an issue for all the following scenarios:
Project Server 2003 with IE 7.0 and Excel 2007
Project Server 2007 with IE 7.0 and Excel 2007
Project Server 2007 with IE 6.0 and Excel 2002

My guess is it must be related to IE security settings...

Any ideas? Thanks...

This problem happened at our site as people upgraded to IE 7. I found two
things that needed to be set to make the export work properly:

1) Add your Project Server URL to your Trusted Sites on the Security tab of
the Internet Options control panel (this is necessary for IE 6 as well)
2) Change the following security setting for Trusted Sites on that Security
tab: "Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for
scripting" – change from Disable to Prompt.

That did it for us - hope it helps!
