PWA internet faced: login with a different domain???

Hi all,

I'm trying to understand how PWA works "in internet"...

it works fine, but I was wondering: how the client (MS Project Pro and
the PWA) can Authenticate a user that belong to a different domain????
is it possible?

better give you an example:

PWA deployed under TEST domain, user in TEST domain can easy access
pwa (locally or via internet), but what about a user that belongs to
another domain (as example DEMO)....

if he opens PWA, he will prompt to insert userID and Password, but it
can be a user under a different domain???

mmmm hope that you can understand my issue... it looks messy for
me ;)

thanks

Vit

As long as the domain that project server is a member of, trusts the other
domain it should be ok. Active Directory is a tree like structure and
normally in AD sub domains like Test have trust to other part of the AD tree.
You will need to constult with the Administrators of your AD forest.

Hope this helps

thanks for your answer, but it's not a AD tree issue....

I have my Project Server and I want give access to different
stockholders... they have their own domain...

I want to create a user in Project server and the user should be able
to login with it's own windows account (that will be on a different
domain....)

is it possible??? or I need an "authentication form"???

thanks

Vit:

If you provide access to your Project Server via the Internet and the user
is from no domain or an un-trusted domain, the system will prompt for a
logon for PWA. Using the Project client, in 2007 you have the ability to
enter the correct credentials in the logon screen if you select to control
the connection manually.

Forms Authenication is a possible solution. I also have clients that use
ADAM (a developer version of AD) to create a virtual domain that internet
users can use to authenicate to and the users don't have to be in the real
AD.

Hope this helps
