PWA Login by Windows Accounts

I can log into PWA (Project Web Access) using Project Server accounts, but I
can't log in using my windows account UNLESS I am on a computer which is
part of the domain - which uses pass through authentication for that
account.

How can I enable my windows based users who are part of the Project Server
log into PWA withOUT having to use a domain based computer? Is this a
feature (or lack of)?

Hi KP,

In short you cant.
Your either have a Project Server authentification ( with it's consequences
like no Workspace, Risk, Issues etc)
Or you use Windows authentification, but your users will need to have access
of the domain where Project Server is part of.
Hope this helps

If the Project Server is part of the domain, or trusted domain to the
authentication authority, then I think you can do this by granting the users
rights to logon to the server locally.

Wow, that truly defeats the purpose of a LOGON screen with username and
password - misleading.

Could you be specific. You'd continue to control this using domain security
to control this, so what's the beef? It evokes a challenge response logon
from the server first.

I understand the great feature of pass through authentifcation mechanism of
PS; however, having the LOGON page with ideally tell you that you can login
using a domain credential - just like OWA. It would have been nice to go
outside the company NO VPN, log into a web site (PS) and be able to use by
domain credential - DOMAIN\USERNAME in PWA - again JUST like OWA - USER
FRIENDLINESS. That would be my beef - do you not understand?

You can. The approach I'd recommend is different depending on whether you're
inside or outside the firewall. Inasmuch as the your last post is first hint
that you're looking to go across the Internet, I suggest that you follow the
installation guide for directions on configuring a front end in the DMZ for
accomplishing this. In previous messages I assumed you were working inside
the firewall.
