PWA not sync'ing with Project Pro?

Ryan

I have a user who is consistently having tasks show up in PWA (in her task
lists) that have been updated to 100% work complete but they are not
updating in the Project. In her task list, it shows 100%, but there is
still the red exclamation in the indicators column that shows that the task
is overdue. When I open the project in Project Pro (on the PM's account),
the tasks show as 0% complete. He is getting notifications when she updates
tasks (we're using a % complete method of tracking) and after he accepts,
the project opens up in Project Professional as if it needs to save changes,
but % complete still shows 0%. The odd thing is that this is not for every
project, some projects update fine.

Thanks for any suggestions,
Ryan

Are your project managers publishing updates and changes after they update
their plans?

I have seen a number of "sync" problems that boiled back to a failure to
consistently publish updates and changes...

Bob,

Perhaps this is part of the problem. I believe I can edit the enterprise
global to force publishes on every change and if so, I'll work this into the
solution. However, there are still some "sync" problems that I don't
believe are related. When the project manager gets the email stating that a
resource has updated their task list, he can click on the link and Project
Pro opens as expected but none of the actuals get input into the project (%
complete). This is odd and I have not been able to recreate the error with
other project managers.

Hello Ryan,

I understand your frustration.

Remember that sometimes symptoms get lumped together when their root causes
are completely different.

My recommendation is to eliminate the simple things and then work on what is
left one problem at a time. It is remarkable how often solving one finite
problem can resolve a lot of duplicate symptoms.

I would start by taking a project that is clearly out of sync,
carefully document the symptoms, republish the project and reassess.
