PWA - reporting on Material Resources

I am struggling with multiple issues with resource reports and will break my
questions out. It was suggested that I post here rather in the general group.

Here is my first....

I am unable to work with material resources - they are not showing up in the
resource reports. Is there a custom configuration in the admin that I am
missing?

Right now I have set them up as work resources and created windows accounts
for them. The reports return hours worked - I export to excel and manipulate
the data to get a report on units rather than hours. Seems a bit ridiculous
as well as cumbersome but I can't seem to find any documentation to help me
with this.

Any input/insight/clarity would be appreciated.

Very strange because we do this.
For instance we have a Generic Resource set up and can apply Actual Hours or
Costs and the results come out in the OLAP Cube.

We do not use any Material Lable and we set the Resource to Generic YES.

may not be the correct approach, but it works non the less
