PWA - Viewing Master Projects

For a saved only Master Project, the subproject detail is not visible in
PWA's Project Center. I can only see the master project name and the first
subproject name. We have the latest service pack installed on Project Server
2003.

Questions:

1. Is the problem detailed above a current issue?
2. If only saving a master project, without task assignments on the master
project, will there be duplication of actual work. I cannot get the product
to fail in this regard, but MS still recommends not saving a master project
on the server.

1. No, this is not an issue or a bug. It is the default behavior of
Project Server.

2. You can safely save the master project in the Project Server database,
but you should NEVER publish a master project because of the potential
duplication of assignments issue.

Also, please post any future Project Server questions in the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this group is shutting down.

The "issue" is that Microsoft didn't give us the capability to drilldown in
the Project Center. The system is working as designed. Saving Masters are
fine. I recommend that you set your Project Server to allow saving but not
allow publishing of the masters. With this arrangement, you're completely
safe.
