PWA, who's owner of tasks

R

René

HI,
If in a project, tasks have been assigned to more than one
manager (via Collaborate-become manager of these
assigmnent). How can I see who is managing the task in
PWA/Project?
Manager or Owner are not part of the available fields.

René,

Whoever last published the assignments is the manager. There is only one at a time.

Sarah --

Your answer is incorrect. In Microsoft Project Server, a project can have
multiple Managers, since each task in the plan can have a different manager.
This is accomplished in the following manner:

1. First manager opens the plans and publishes New and Changed Assignments
2. First manager saves and closes the project
3. Second manager opens the project and selects the tasks which he/she will
manage
4. Second manager clicks Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
5. Second manager selects the "Selected tasks" option at the top of the
dialog box
6. Second manager checks the "Become the manager for these assignments
option" and clicks OK
7. Second manager saves and closes the project
8. Third manager opens the project and repeats steps 4-7

Hope this clarification helps.

Dale,

I see how unclear I was. I realize that more than one PM can be
involved in any one project. What I meant was that whoever last
published the particular assignment is the PM for that assignment.
There can be only one manager per assignment at a time. Sorry for the
confusion in my answer!
