PWQ login without windows authentication

Our users have their accounts setup using Windows Authentication. This allows
their userid/password to automatically be authenticated when they open a
Project Web Access browser window. However, when there is a need for a person
to access THEIR Web Access account (for example, to see their task list)
while working with another person that is already logged into windows, the
login doesn't seem to work. It seems to me the person should be able to click
"Log Off" from the PWA window from the person that is logged into windows,
and then actually enter their user name and password on the logon page. But,
it doesn't work. Are we doing something wrong, or does this, in fact, not
work the way that I think it should?

You are hitting a (corporate?) security issue. I have no idea what allowing
a login for an outsider would entail. The administrator could setup logins
for consultants (might be expensive as liscening would be an issue)

Debbie,

I don't know if this will help, but one of the post-installation tasks after
a PS 2003 install is to configure "Allow users to Log on By Using a Different
Windows User Account" You can find this on Page 66 of the Single Computer
Installation PDF file available on the Microsoft Project site. It consists of
changing the IIS permissions on a virtual folder and a .dll

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much, Gary! That is exactly what is needed. I forwarded this to
my IT people, hopefully they will not have the security issues that Brent
mentioned in his post.
