Hello, Outlook 2007 (of course).

Is there any way to removed those damn ribbons and get some normal menus?
Any hidden regedit setting or such like?

There is no hidden hack but there are utilities you can buy. In my experience, most people take to them after about 2 weeks and find them much easier than the menus and toolbars - they don't have to root for things.

FWIW, the next version of Outook is expected to be 100% ribbon.

I hope they fix this

I'm convinced they won't "fix this" because it's not broken. A ton of time
and energy went into the ribbon. I just don't see them getting rid of it.
In fact, in Office 14, Outlook's main window will have a ribbon as well.

How is it not broken?

For example, a short time ago I was editing a complicated mail about a
programming bug. I had three windows open to show me three things at once
- the mail I was composing on the right, a program listing on the left,
the bug report in the middle. I allocated about 1/4 of the width of my
screen to the mail window.

The mail window was narrower than it might normally be, but plenty wide
enough to work in.

However because of the width, the ribbon was unable to display all the
editing options. A normal set of menus would not have had that problem.
