I presume you are referring to Access? I'm not exactly following what
you are having difficulty with. I *think* you are saying you are
working with a query and some of the fields use a combo box as the
display control and in the query you are attempting to sort by a field
that uses a combo box?
If that's the case then are you hiding the primary key (bound) field
for the combo box? That's what will be used for the sort order - not a
non-bound field you see in the list. If you want to sort by a specific
field then add the 'lookup table' to the query and use the field that
actually contains the data you want to use for sorting.
Also note for additional questions or follow-up questions you may want

folks tend to hang out.
