Query Field limit

A simple question but I'm stuck: any idea why my query won't let me add more
fields? I'm no where near the 255 limit. I'm creating a query where most of
the fields are calculated using data from 2 tables - does calculating change
things? Suddenly it won't add a new field but just sends me back to the 2nd
row of the very first field when I hit enter on the last field I was able to
create.

Select a column in the grid, then from the INSERT menu, choose COLUMN. This
will then allow you to add another column.
