Question about 2003

D

Doug Chaplin

Wondering whether it's worth the upgrade. I like the idea of multiple master
pages and baseline grid, but I have a couple of questions. If those of you
using 2003 could help, then I'd be grateful.
Is the hyphenation still only available at global or story level, or can you
now set it as part of a style?
Is there any control over minimum/optimum/maximum word spacing in paragraph
styles?
Has Publisher implemented character styles yet?
TIA

Have you checked out Serif PagePlus 9.0
If you have not, you are doing yourself a great injustice.

If you know about it, do you use it or have you investigated PagePlus 9.0?
Most of us regulars here own both.

I use PP9, but Publisher XP, and was wondering what features other than the
"headline" ones had been added. It ususally depends who I'm working with on
what project. I tend to use InDesign for the stuff that is just me, unless I
want PP's graphic abilities as well for something quick.

Doug if you need merging options and particularly with pictures, then Pub 2003 is awesome.

Overall I very much like Pub 2003, but use it for merging which I do a lot of, and use it more for business type documents and forms. Serif PagePlus 9.0 for long documents, newsletters and anything that requires flair and panache is substantially better. The drawing tools and the Shaped Text Frames are just *AWESOME* in every way

Thanks for that info.

As David mentioned, it is story level only.
