Question about a Microsoft Office license

B

Burnsey

I went to a Microsoft seminar and received a copy of Microsoft Office
Professional. I put a copy on my laptop and let my room mate put a copy on
his laptop. My room mates laptop broke. (His screen broke). He asked me if he
could put a copy on his new laptop. I am concerned about my license. Would I
be able to do this for him?

The OP specifically stated two laptops, if we're going to be picky. And you
can't use both sytems simultaneously. And lastly, without reading the EULA
that comes with that specific edition of Office, it's just speculation.

Assuming it is a regular retail version: install an additional copy of the
Software on a second, portable device for the exclusive use of the primary
user of the first copy of the Software.

"Primary user of the first copy" - that means that the OP cannot load it on
his buddy's system.

I had to read it a bit deeper than I normally do. :)
