Question about converting 97db to 2003 db

Hello,

I have several 97 db that I need to convert to 2003. I have done most of
them already without any problems except for one. When I try to convert
this db I get the following msg:

The current user account doesn't have permissions to convert or enable this
database. Then it says things like; You have to join the work group, Your
user account must have open/read access and so on. (I can give you the whole
error msg. if needed).

I didn't design the original 97 db, but as far as I understand there is no
security on it. We don't have to enter a user name or password when opening
the db in 97, and it works on any workstation that has Access 97.

I have tried joining the work group following the Help file, but that didn't
work.

Any other suggestions how to go about this? Can I for instance remove the
security that may be on the 97 db since I have full access working with the
db in 97?

Note: I have both Access 97 and 2003 installed on the same machine. Could
this be causing a problem (so far every other db has worked fine)

Thanks!

Liz

Well it sounds as though it is secure. You say you don't have to enter a
username/password, but are you starting it via a desktop shortcut? If so,
have a look at the shortcut to see if it specifies a workgroup file
(/wrkgrp), and includes the username and password switches.

You can try. Open Access 97 and create a new mdb, and try importing all
objects from your mdb.
