Question About Outlook Integration

We are evaluating the plugin that comes with Project Server 2003 and have a
couple of questions for anyone who knows the answers / has opinions.

1. Why are the tasks set up in the calendar rather than the tasks area -- is
it because of reminders?
2. Will republishing assignments and overwriting user info overwrite in the
outlook view what they have entered?
3. Are there other "Better" products that people use for this?
4. Why do old tasks that are complete in the project plan (even when
republished) get added?

To be honest, I tell my clients to not use the Outlook plugin... it
junks up people's Outlook calendar, and I've never come across a client
that, once shown the functionality, wanted to use it. You can
accomplish the same thing with notifications and by setting up reminder
notifications for tasks that are approaching due and/or overdue.
