Question for advanced rules

I

Ian

I would like to setup a rule to work a certain way. I have the following:

Folder under my Inbox: 'emailaccountname'
Folder under 'emailaccountname' folder: 'replies'

Rule #1: For all mail into specified account from certain sender and with
subject certain subject, move to 'replies'
Rule #2: For all mail into specified account, move to 'emailaccountname'

I assumed as rule one came before rule two, all items matching the specified
criteria of rule one would be moved to my 'replies' folder and that rule two
would be ignored for these messages. However, this is not the case.
Instestead I get a copy of the message in both folders.

I then tried to edit rule two in order to add exceptions, but the problem is
I can't specify an exception based on sender AND subject. My exception comes
up as sender OR subject. I need to match with both as I receive other mails
from the same sender, and also receive mails with the same subject from other
senders.

I am using Outlook 2007. Any way around this problem?

Use the action "stop processing more rules" if you want additional rules to
be ignored once the message meets the rule's criteria.
