Hi All,
I realize this is not the segment for security but I have had difficutly
logging into this site today and then could not use the section for Security.
By using someone else's computer, creating a new profile and login, I was
able to complete signing in for the intended question. When I try to Sign
In, I get the message that the page is not available.
The intended question is the following:
I have several databases. I have a back end for data, several user
interfaces, and another database in a secure folder for billing information,
not accessible to the average user. I am creating another database but would
like to implement real security on this one. I have reviewd the Microsoft
Security Faq. The more i read, the move confusing it gets.
The new databse will be a client/server setup. From reading other articles,
I get the impression that, if I set security on the new database, it may
affect the old database (I read Microsoft Faq on using a secure and unsecure
databases). If my understanding is correct, please advise me because I cannot
relate what the FAQ tells me to my current situation.
The 2nd concern is: How do I know which system.mda/mdw files relate to
which database?
I am very confused about msaccess.exe, system.mdw files and workgroup files.
Its as if too much information is dangerous. The more I read, the more
confused I get.
Thank you for the help with access securtiy.
Additionally, if I can get assistance with my former login, I would
appreciate it. My User Name for that login is Captain OhNo.
Thanks again
