Question on tracking updates history

Hi, who could give me an answer for below question?
I am using PS2007+PWA. know that we can review and search the task update
history from "PWA_Approval_Applied Task Update Requests and Errors", however,
I found that the list is obviously not intact. It is somehow weird that the
list is distinctly short than it should be, some old updates are there but
some recent are missed, some are published but some haven't been..... it
looks no any rule...?
Could anyone tell me that is there any rule on project server to present
this list? How can I get whole list? How many item or how long time the
updates will be listed? Can we configure somewhere to customize this rule?
