Question Regarding the Proper Site Collection for Project Workspac

Hello,

Should the project workspaces be children of the PWA site collection or of
the project server site collection?

We are using MSPS 2007 and WSS 3.0.

Thank you!

Thank you for the post Marc! This will help a lot. Our technical area setup
the workspaces as part of the project server site collection and I think it
is causing some problems.

Do you have a link to any documentation which explains how/why to set it up
that way?

Thank you again!

Hi Marc,

I always did place the workspaces in the pwa site collection. However,
checking documentation of microsoft recently, they advise differently:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc197479.aspx
quote:
Create a site collection for project workspaces
We recommend that you create a site collection for your project workspaces
that is different than the site collection used by Office Project Web Access.
Using a separate site collection allows for easier migration should you
decide to move your Project Server installation to a different farm in the
future.

I agree that it is easier migratable, but is having them in the same site
collection not more usable (for eg. search functions ) ?
Are we making it difficult for ourselves if we do not follow MS
recommendations?
