I have converted 2 databases without too many problems so
what you heard is incorrect.
Unless by "the database compiled in Access 97", you meant
an MDE file but MDE files are compiled and the canonical
text component of your VBA code has been removed and MDE
files cannot be converted or modified in any version of
Access.
