quick way to download newsgroup messages ?

I have microsoft office 2000 . I am using out look to read
messages in newsgroups . I would like to know if there is
a way to download all of the messages in a newsgroup to a
file or folder to be viewed offline . I have tried doing
this but keep receiving a message dialogue that says that
the NNTP server has not been able to connect and ask me if
I want to stop or continue . After 2 or 3 times of
continue , my computer locks ups . I could copy each
message and save it as a text file but that would get
rather extreme after a couple thousand messages(lol) . I
ideally would like to save all the messages in a newsgroup
to a folder so that I could give this folder to a friend
to read . If there is a seperate utility I could use that
would be ok too . Thanks

Note that Outlook uses Outlook Express as the newsreader. Outlook itself
doesn't support NNTP.

Anyway; when you work offline you should place OE in offline mode as well;
File-> Work Offline

To be able to view messages offline set your synchronisation settings for
that newsgroup to download full items.

For additional support here is the link for the right forum

Good Luck!
