Radar graph transparency

I'm trying to create a filled radar graph with transparent layers. If
fill the base layer with a color then the gridlines dissapear. Whe
trying to make subsequent layers transparent the transparency slide i
greayed out. Is there a remedy to this? Through VBA?

You can fake it by drawing shapes that overlay the data. Here's some VBA to do it:
