RANDBETWEEN generating numbers outside of range

Using Excel 2003. Simple task of trying to generate a pseudo-random number
between 1 and 52 (yes, a deck of cards). I'm populating the cells with
=RANDBETWEEN(1,52). Many of the cells are displaying negative numbers.

Any ideas?

I tried it both in Excel2004 and 2008 and I don't see any negative numbers.
 it set up in 3 columns of 14.

I'm afraid I can't answer your question, but I can point you in the right
direction - You've asked in the Mac Excel group. I've not seen this occur &
have just tried 500 iterations in Excel 2007 without any negative values
being generated. Ask in one of the Windows Excel groups:

Two ideas:

(A) Early Excel 2003 had a serious bug in its random number generator. Be
sure to update to Excel 2003 SP3.

(B) You may want to avoid duplicates, in which case search Bing or Google
for "excel unique random numbers" (without the quotes).
