RE-RE-REinstalling Office 2007 office.

Platform is a HP Pavilion XP home supplied from HP.
HP's origional image comes with offer for 60 day free trial of office suite
2003.
I had that already activated.
Installed ORIGIONAL version via download Office 2007 Beta.
Installed VISTA.
Worked just fine. HP printer quit working (among other programs).
Uninstalled VISTA. Reinstalled XP Home.
Discovered XP backup/recovery/restore no longer available (virus?).
Discovered Recovery Partition no longer valid.
Got French copy of the HP XP Home OS via USPS.
I don't speak French.
Got English copy of the HP XP Home OS via USPS.
Installed HP XP OS, activated 2003 office suite.
Tried to reinstall Beta Office 2007 Beta.
Origional download not backed up/unavailable.
Current Beta Office 2007 installation downloaded, saved and fails upon
installation saying,"There are no products...".
I've downloaded Windows Installer Uninstall cleanup program.
All visable traces of Office 2007, 2003 have been removed

I have run out of ideas.

1) Can I re-download the origional versioin of Office 2007 Beta and
reinstall?
2) Can I re-download the subsequent 2007 Beta Technical refresh and
reinstall?
3) Is it possible to install the technical refresh without the origional
Beta version installed?
4) Should I just give up and go back to paper and pencil?
thanks in advance.

Hi John,

If you downloaded just the Office 2007 Beta 2 Technical Refresh (B2TR) note that those are only update patches to MS Office 2007
Beta 2 (i.e. B2TR won't be installable as a standalone).

If you have both the B2TR and Office 2007 Beta 2 product then be sure that the B2TR files are for the same language as Office 2007
Beta.

Downloading MS Office Beta 2 has a $1.50 fee at this point through the links below.

Thank you for getting back to me Bob. I guess what I'm encountering here is
something of a failure to communicate.

I had, in the past, downloaded adn installed the origional OPPLUS-EN.EXE
Office Professional Plus Beta and it worked just fine.

I encountered some 'issues' and lost that version along with any other
working copies or versions of Office.

I have tried going to the download website 2 times now asking to get the
Beta Office version I can install and "check it out". With each download I
got B2TR - NOT a version that I could install and run which is what it looked
like I'd be getting.

Do you know where I can get a copy of the OPPLUS-EN or any other BASE
version upon which I can then overlay my 'full' technical refresh? It doesn't
appear that the MS 2007 Beta Download page is offering the base product
anymore. Did I miss something?

BTW -I really do appreciate all that you guys are doing and too, for the
chance to play with these new releases before they get to the messes, i mean
masses.

Hi John,

You should still be able to obtain the 2007 Office system beta 2 products, but MS has implemented a $1.50 fee for entering that
download area. See if link #1 below gets you to the right place to download one or more of the MS Office 2007 Beta 2 products.
