read-only AGAIN

Macintosh Word docs copied onto server(WIN2K), then opened
in Office2K, sometimes open as read-only. Is there a way
for this to not occur, is there something we can do to
change doc?

How are the documents being copied to the server? What servicepack level are
you running on the server?

go to the document as a file--do not execute Word!!

either use Windows Explorer or My Computer, My Documents.

Highlight file.
Right click, go to properties and uncheck "Read"

Go to Tools > Options > under the "Security" tab, check to see if
"Read-only recommended" is checked. Its not a gurantee though, but worth
checking.
