Read Only? Cannnot Select Text

Copied eveything from a Pack N Go cd to local drive
Unpacked via unpack.exe
Have all the graphic files and the "documentPNG.pub"
Launched the pub but cannot select anything - most icons and file drop down
menu's are grayed out. I have been able to print but that's it.
Nothing in the title or file properties refers to Read Only...the last file
received from this customer open and behaves fine.
Same results on Windows XP with Publisher 2003 and Windows Vista Publisher
2007

Any thoughts?

Can you uncheck the read only by right-clicking the Publisher file, properties?
What version Publisher did you use for the pack and go?
Are you getting an error? Did you use WordArt?

You cannot open a Pack and Go publication in an earlier version of Publisher

There is no read only attribute set anywhere, it only acts as if there were.
(I'm capable of checking file properties within explorer.) If we forget I
used the Read Only in the subject line, my question would be "I have a
publisher file which I have unpacked on a XP machine running Office 2003 and
Vista machine running Office 2007, I cannot select any text or objects,
cannot create a text box, cannot place any images; cannot delete pages, all
drop down menu's are grayed out." Previous files received from this
individual have not exhibited these characteristics.
There are no errrors beyond font and image dialogs upon open.
File uploaded to a free share site, didn't ralize how big it was...

Answering my post - There is a font with licensing restrictions used in the
file (listed as Preview Only in the embedded/duplicate fonts dialog). We
have a licensed version of the font. Toggling "No" in the load font corrects
the problem.
