read only folders won't change

I tried changing some folders in My Documents from read only and everytime I
change them they change back by themselves TO Read Only. How can I get them
to NOT be Read only perminantly.

Folders do not have a Read Only attribute. If you note, on the folder
properties the checkmark is kind of grey - it does not affect the folder or
its contents. Just ignore it.

Read Only applies to files individually. Can you read/write the files
contained in the folder?

They aren't read only, that check box is for the user to SET or UNset
readonly on the Files CONTAINED in the folder. The box indicates
absolutely nothing reguarding the folder itself
