read works 6.0?

Hello I'm thinking of buying MS Office 2003.
But I have a lot of files created with MS Works ver.6.0
that came with my computer running XP. Does
anyone know if the MS Word 2003 can read these
files. I have Lotus Smart Suite for WinXP and it could
not read them.

The text converters supplied with Word 2003 can open Works 2000 files.
