reading Japanese plain text

I am not able to read any e-mail sent to me by Japanese
users (writing in English). I believe I need to install
update 307841 - but I can't figure out how to find this
and download it. Any ideas?? Please help! I'm missing
out on lots of e-mails and my friends are wondering where
I am.

The article you are refering to is just the page of the servicepacks for
Office XP. The downloades are listed on the page that refers to servicepack
1 or 2. You can also run check for updates on Office from the Help menu in
any Office Application.

The Japanese IME for Office XP can be downloaded here;
